FAQ

What are UTM parameters?

They are tags added to the end of a URL so analytics tools such as Google Analytics can identify where traffic came from. utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign are the core ones; utm_term and utm_content are optional.

Are UTM values case-sensitive?

In most analytics tools, yes, so "Email" and "email" are reported separately. Keeping everything lowercase is the safe choice.

What happens to an existing query string?

This tool removes anything after "?" or "#" in the URL before adding UTM parameters. If you need to keep other parameters, add them back manually after generating.
